Miami, Florida is known for its glamorous atmosphere, vibrant scene and luxury living, and few cities in the country are as closely associated with luxury replica watches and fine luxury timepieces as Miami. Bob’s Watches is proud to support this year’s Motorcar Cavalcade Concours d’Elegance, which takes place on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the luxurious JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa. Car enthusiasts from across the country gather at this premier event to view the collection of vintage, rare and unique automobiles on display.
Best of Show winners were the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in the Modern category and the 1928 Auburn 8-115 Speedster in the Classic category, the second edition of what is sure to become a major automotive event in Miami, created by Jason Wenig. As the owner of The Creative Workshop, a full-service classic and specialty vehicle restoration and car manufacturing business, Wenig certainly knows a thing or two about epic cars.
Where there are luxury cars, high-end imitation watches are sure to follow. And the watch appreciation event at Motorcar Cavalcade did not disappoint. Despite the 2,000 guests wearing sweaters and jackets that day to ward off the unusually cold (for South Florida) temperatures, most were happy to roll up their sleeves and show us their watches.
A few standout timepieces on attendees’ wrists included Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks, Breguet Dauphine de Naples and Cartier Santos chronographs. There was also a married couple wearing a pair of F.P. Journe pieces, which, I’m sure you’ll agree, is a wonderful way to sport his and her suits. It wasn’t just expensive watches either; we saw the MoonSwatch Jupiter, which is of course part of the watch line that has been the hottest on the market for the last year thanks to the Swatch and clone Omega partnership.
As part of our support for the event, Bob’s Watches booked a full-page ad next to the event schedule; our logo was also featured alongside many of the prestigious companies that partnered with the Motorcar Cavalcade Concours d’Elegance.
Unlike traditional competitions that include make, model or era, Motorcar Cavalcade entrants competed in atypical categories such as sound, lighting, trim, dashboard, doors, rear end and cockpit. This interesting approach yielded an eclectic array of collector cars. Former NBA player Alonzo Mourning and Motorsports Hall of Famers Tommy Kendall and Lyn St James were also part of the judging panel.
